Tomoaki Suzuki - Summer Exhibition RA

Summer Exhibition 2017, Royal Academy of Arts

Beauty and wellbeing are a whole body, mind and soul thing as far as I’m concerned. No point slathering on the skincare if you’re not nourishing your mind too. Feeling inspired makes the skin glow and eyes sparkle. Art should be part of your beauty routine! As summer draws to an end (sob sob), it’s the last weekend to catch the Summer Exhibition at the … Continue reading Summer Exhibition 2017, Royal Academy of Arts

Last Chance To See Monumental Anselm Kiefer Exhibition At Royal Academy

One of the wonderful things about London, is the access we have to art from all over the world and the opportunity that gives to learn new stuff. No point lying, until I saw I saw the Anselm Kiefer Royal Academy exhibition posters, the only Anselm I knew was the saint (I went to school in Canterbury), and the only Kiefer was Sutherland. The artist that … Continue reading Last Chance To See Monumental Anselm Kiefer Exhibition At Royal Academy

Dennis Hopper, The Lost Album, Royal Academy of Arts

Dennis Hopper, The Lost Album, The Royal Academy of Arts

The 60s were so ridiculously photogenic and I never tire of looking at old black and white photographs so the current Dennis Hopper, The Lost Album exhibition at the Royal Academy is right up my street. Dennis Hopper was more than a pretty (psychotic) face on the big screen. Lesser known (at least by me) is that he was also a photographer and artist. Dennis Hopper, The … Continue reading Dennis Hopper, The Lost Album, The Royal Academy of Arts

London: BFI Teenage Kicks Season Kicks Off, 1 – 31 August 2014

I have been an employed adult for longer than I care to think about and yet I still get that “school’s out for summer” feeling every year. Swiftly followed by the crushing realisation that “no it’s not“ but “hurrah I can now get a seat on public transport“. This August, the BFI is celebrating the highs and lows of the teen on screen with Teenage Kicks. The month-long season … Continue reading London: BFI Teenage Kicks Season Kicks Off, 1 – 31 August 2014

Last Week To See: Yinka Shonibare MBE at Greenwich exhibition

I feel thoroughly ashamed of myself. Greenwich is on my doorstep and I completely take it for granted. The Queen’s House (separate post coming up) is one of its treasures. I’ve walked past the grand house numerous times but finally went in recently to see the Yinka Shonibare MBE at Greenwich exhibition that is currently on. Royal Museums Greenwich contemporary arts programme has invited acclaimed … Continue reading Last Week To See: Yinka Shonibare MBE at Greenwich exhibition

Incredible Colour ‘Photograph’ of Van Gogh

Take a look at this ‘photo’ of Vincent Van Gogh. Incredible isn’t it?  The artwork ‘Revealing The Truth’ was created by Lithuanian photographer, Tadas Cerniauskas, using one of  Van Gogh’s self-portraits, a red headed friend and a touch of digital wizardry  to imagine how the artist might have looked. Here’s a link to a video with behind the scenes of how he did it. http://tv.ibtimes.com/photographer-digitally-creates-lifelike-van-gogh-image-8528 What … Continue reading Incredible Colour ‘Photograph’ of Van Gogh

Miami Advice: Design District/Wynwood

I’ve been to Miami at least 25 times for work, rest and play! To know it is to love it. Each and every visit I discover something new in the ‘Magic City’. My new fave part of town is Wynwood/Design District. I love sending people to check it out and their surprised reaction to this side of Miami that’s still under the radar. The evolution … Continue reading Miami Advice: Design District/Wynwood
