African Fashion In the Centre of Oxford Street

,

Africa inspired design always makes my heart sing especially during the cold winter when I need bursts of vibrant colour to mentally get through it. Central London is not overflowing with places to find African style so I was keen to check out the pop-up opened by the team behind Africa Fashion Week London. The concession within the Red Dress store in the Plaza on Oxford Street features African designed and inspired clothing and accessories.

I spotted items from all over Africa and the diaspora as well as European designers inspired by Africa. There’s a range in quality , styles and price points in womenswear, menswear, jewellery, handbags, laptop cases and even some stationery. It’s a handy spot to snap up something by up and coming designers as well as to rock something individual that there won’t be a million copies of.

The pop-up boutique is open until the end of January 2015. AFWL Concession, The Red Dress Store, The Plaza, 116-128 Oxford Street. London  W1N 9DP www.africafashionweeklondon.com
