You could discover something new in London every single day. Yesterday I discovered that there is a roof garden on the top floor of John Lewis on Oxford Street. It’s so peaceful up there far from the madding Oxford Street crowds.
The garden has been designed by Tony Woods, RHS Young Garden Designer of the Year 2013, whose winning design was based on achieving tranquility and escape even in an urban garden.
I was there in the afternoon and there was lots of space and seats available. There’s a Joe & The Juice pop-up there for drinks and snacks.
You’d better be quick though. The roof garden is only open for a few more days – it closes on Sunday 31 August.
The Roof Garden is open daily 10am – 4pm (Sunday 11.30am – 4pm) until 31 August. John Lewis, 300 Oxford Street, London, W1C 1DX

Omg, this is amazing! You did a great discovery. Definitely keeping that in mind for my next trip to London! Your photos are great 😉 xx
Gyudy’s Notes Of Beauty
Thank you! It’s lovely up there! xx
Wow, this is GORGEOUS. I love love love rooftop gardens! This is quite a hot spot; and the pictures are a treat.
P.S. In fact, a rooftop-related phrase was one of three names, along with beautycalypse, that I had made up for my blog name 😉
I was slightly sad to have discovered it so late in the season. Interesting! Beautycalypse was more rapturous? 😉
mmmm, let’s say it was less weird-and-enigmatic (than the one with the rooftop) and less provocative (than the one with the word naked in it). LOL
but I love BC, it has beauty and it has dystopia in it. I made the word up during a rather frustrated skype chat with a friend and it was love at first sight 😀
Awh man I wish I’d seen this before. What an oasis. Must have been a t.reat to chillax there
It was a real oasis. Hardly any noise from the street below – felt like i was far far away!
