Beauty and wellbeing are a whole body, mind and soul thing as far as I’m concerned. No point slathering on the skincare if you’re not nourishing your mind too. Feeling inspired makes the skin glow and eyes sparkle. Art should be part of your beauty routine!
As summer draws to an end (sob sob), it’s the last weekend to catch the Summer Exhibition at the Royal Academy of Art. Held every single year since 1769 without interruption, it is the world’s largest open art submission exhibition.
There are over 1,000 pieces of artwork spanning every medium with everything from paintings, photography, film, sculpture and installations, from the leading lights of the art world as well as emerging artists.
With so much and such an eclectic collection of art to see it can be overwhelming to try and take everything in at one go. My strategy is just to go with what grabs your attention and not to try to see every single thing. I was mainly drawn to the colourful and creepy. What that says about me I’m not sure. If you don’t find at least one thing you love I’ll eat my hat.
Here is just a small selection of what caught my eye at the Summer Exhibition:

Every time I scroll past your post I keep reminding myself that I need to go see this! Love your thoughts and the images – really captures the fun of the exhibition
It was a fun one! I’m sure some of the pieces will be on permanent display though it’s now finished.
Ha thanks for the heads up!
