Most FAQ recently in my DMs has been what SPF i use so thought I'd share here. SPF is tricky for me because 1. I'm allergic to key ingredients in the majority of chemical sunscreens which tend to be clear on dark skin⁠⠀ 2. Physical sunscreen with natural ingredients are zinc oxide or titanium based which are white powders = 👻👻👻 so Halloween nailed but not such a hot everyday look 😅. They're also mattefying which is great for oilier skin but not for my Sahara Dry self.⁠⠀ ⁠⠀ But I have found options that work hurrah. Here's what I'm currently using - none cause a reaction or Casparitis. ⁣⠀⁠⠀ ⁠⁣⁠⠀ 🌞 @earthwisebeauty Farizad's Sun Veil Reflector. 100% natural zinc oxide and aloe based SPF powder that is mixed with oil to apply. Makes suncare almost more of a pleasing ritual than chore. Note that there's a learning curve to using it so might not suit all. I'll do a video demo. ⁠⁣⠀⁠⠀ ⁠⁣⠀⁠⠀ 🌞 @larocheposay La Roche-Posay Anthelios Shaka Ultra-light Facial Sun Cream SPF50 - Caught my eye because it promised absolutely no stinging and also how can I resist something called Shaka. Ultra light, rubs in easily, and zero eye sting. ⁠⁣⠀⁠⠀ ⁠⁣⠀⁠⠀ 🌞 @ultrasunuk Sports Gel SPF 30 (also comes in 20 and 50) - fave body SPF. This is a clear gel so invisible on the skin, applies like a dream and leaves skin looking glossy so no extra layer of moisturising required. Reef friendly too. And don’t forget the lips need protection too. ⁠⁣⠀⁠⠀ ⁣⠀⁠⠀ Also just finished Ultrasun’s Tinted Face in Honey. Blends in beautifully no ashiness. Fab as a one and done. The very deepest skin tones would probably need makeup over it. ⁣⠀⁠⠀ ⁣⠀⁠⠀ Not shown is @zelens Daily Defence SPF 30 which 've just finished. Lovely elegant texture, rubs in easily with no irritation or cast. ⁣⠀⁠⠀ ⁠⁣⠀⁠⠀ Finally I’ve never been sunburnt though I know people with black skin who have. I carry the Ultrasun AfterSun (full of serious skin repairing ingredient like those used on hospital burn victims) for my Inner Mary Seacole as I ALWAYS spot people getting lobstered⁠. ⁣⠀⁠⠀ ⁠⁣⠀⁠⠀ So what SPF do you use? ⁣⠀⁠⠀ ⁠⁣⠀⁠⠀ #wonderlustingbeauty #protectyourmelanin #earthwisebeauty #ultrasun #larocheposay #brownbeauty #wocskincare
