Forget H&M collaboration this, and Top Shop collaboration that, finally here’s a masstige collection I’m really excited about. The American chain J C Penney has just announced that its next designer collaboration will be with London-based, Nigerian designer, Duro Olowu. The collection will include womenswear, stationery and accessories by Iris Apfel, with prices between $10 and $100.
The bad news is that JC Penney is only available in USA. However as the collection won’t be out until next March, there’s plenty of time to plan a shopping trip to coincide. I’ve also just discovered that the website ships internationally which could be dangerous…..
Solange Knowles, Uma Thurman, Linda Evangelista and most famously Michelle Obama are fans. I love his use of bold prints on sophisticated silhouettes that are pretty without being too girly. Sadly my wallet doesn’t love the usual designer price tags….£800 to £5,000.
Duro was previously a practising lawyer and only launched his label in 2004 so he’s achieved great things in a relatively short amount of time. Available in the USA, Asia, Middle East and Europe, I’m surprised no British boutiques apart from his Mayfair store stock the line thought it is available on net-a-porter.
Here are a few items from the forthcoming Duro Olowu for jcp collection:
