Nailing It: Bold & Grit SOS Nail Care Serum

Winter is the absolute worst for my hair, skin, nails…. and soul! My normally strong, healthy nails really suffer and become brittle and flaky in the cold weather.  And it doesn’t help that they’ve literally had a hammering recently with a house move and been tortued with gel nail polish.

Our hands and nails are the driest part of our entire body as they have the least sebaceous glands. Guess oily hands for holding things would not be the best. However this does mean they need all the extra hydration and moisture they can get, especially at this time of year.

With the state of my nails, I decided it was time for some pampering and have been trying out the Bold & Grit SOS Nail care pen that promises to prevent nails from splitting, flaking, peeling and breaking.

What’s in Bold & Grit SOS Nail Care serum? 

The Bold & Grit SOS Nail Care serum contains a blend of nutrient-packed oils including avocado, baobab, jojoba, argan and macadamia – great for nourishing my ravaged cuticles. Alongside mastic gum, which is something of a wonder ingredient for nails. It’s a naturally derived tree resin with studies showing that it can stimulate the nail’s production of keratin, which means stronger nails. The ingredients list is vegan-friendly and cruelty-free.

My Hands-on Experience of Bold + Grit Nail Care

The serum is in a black pen with built-in brush.  The pen brush design is handy for application and easy to pop in to a handbag with no mess. The serum is absorbed fairly quickly without leaving a greasy mess. As with most pens on the first use, it took a few twists for the serum to flow out and it’s tricky to tell when it’s running out. 

After two weeks of using this serum every day my nails are healthier than they’ve been in ages. My nails feel more resilient and my cuticles are looking cute if I say so myself.  I’d been suffering with hangnails and for the first time in months, they’re all gone.
