For anyone who doesn’t know, Sephora is basically the ultimate beauty sweet shop. It stocks all the big beauty brands such as Chanel and Bobbi Brown alongside funky niche ones such as bite, Edward Bess, Ellis Faas. They are also often the first to stock new ranges like the new Marc Jacobs Beauty and exclusive kits not available anywhere else. Most importantly for me, the staff let you play with the products to your heart’s content with zero hassle. The French company did have several locations in the UK but for some unknown reason pulled out leaving beautyaholics heartbroken.
I’ve written before about my deep aversion to department store beauty halls with their unhelpful, trowel makeuped staff more focussed on hitting targets and pushing products regardless of their suitability for you. Thankfully we now have places like the Beauty Workshop and BeautyMART that are helping heal my beauty product buying trauma. However Sephora still holds a special place in my heart and I mourn the way it was cruelly snatched away from our shores.
On my recent trip to Los Angeles, you can bet your bottom dollar that it was top of my list of places to visit. Here are a few interesting things I spotted and I wish were here in UK (please excuse the quality of the pics, the lighting was not great):

Inspired by the delightful Eye of the Beholder who spins the best blog related tunes thought I’d pick a track for Sephora to listen to:
Anyone else feel this way about Sephora?
