Today I’m checking out some products from Green People, one of the longest established, certified organic, skincare ranges. In fact we have their founder, Charlotte Vøhtz, to thank for even having any organic beauty standards at all. She has long championed organic and was instrumental in setting up the Soil Association’s organic beauty standards over 20 years ago. And yet somehow I’ve never tried their skincare before. I’m not sure what’s taken me so long but I’m finally on it and have been putting a few products to the test over the past couple of months. Read on to find out how I got on with their Age Defy+ collection.
Green People Age Defy+ Tried & Tested
Green People’s Age Defy+ was formulated by founder Cha Vøhtz to tackle the specific concerns of 35+ skin. The range features natural and scientifically proven, botanical active ingredients that help strengthen skin, boost radiance and deeply hydrate. As someone who has had Sahara dry and sensitive skin way before I was 35, this range sounded right up my skin’s street.
Before I get in to the product reviews, it’s worth knowing that Green People products are certified by the Soil Association, Organic Food Federation and EcoCert. It is also certified cruelty-free by PETA. This means that from farm to face, you can trust that what you use has been independently checked out and is responsibly manufactured.
Green People Age Defy+ Purify & Hydrate Cream Cleanser Review
I’ve mentioned before that I’m a cleansaholic however I must confess that cream cleansers hardly ever make my favourites list so I did not have high hopes for the Green People cleanser.
Made with 86% certified organic ingredients, botanical ingredients include hibiscus, aloe vera and jojoba. The cleanser has a smooth creamy texture and delightfully uplifting scent thanks to a blend of essential oils including mandarin, Ho Wood and ylang ylang. Apart from smelling great, these oils also help to stimulate new skin cells and boost circulation.
How I used the Age Defy+ cream cleanser in my skincare routine?
This cleanser worked well for both morning and evening skincare routines. A little goes a long way – a pea sized amount is all that I needed in the mornings. For evenings it’s great as one multi-tasking product for double cleansing. First cleanse on dry skin to remove makeup with a reusable cloth, then rinsed off with water as your second cleanse. I was impressed with how it made light work of makeup. Everything came off cleanly including around the eyes without any irritation, residue or tightness. After use my skin felt smooth, clean, and hydrated.
WONDERLUSTING VERDICT:
Dream cream cleanser. The Age Defy+ Purify & Hydrate Cream Cleanser has become a firm favourite. Most cream cleansers are a perfunctory experience for me but my skin sighed with contentment when I applied this. Whatever your age, if you have dry and/or sensitive skin like moi, it’s a winner.
Green People Age Defy+ AHA Radiance Peel Mask Review
The AHA Radiance Peel Mask is the latest launch in the Age Defy+ collection. I am all about the glow but due to my sensitive skin, I have to be very careful about what kinds of exfoliation I use. The AHA peel mask features a blend of fruit extracts alongside soothing aloe vera and nourishing fruit oils including cranberry, pomegranate and rosehip.
How I used the Age Defy+ AHA Radiance Peel Mask in my skincare routine?
I used this once a week in the evenings or to prep my skin before a big event if I was as getting all glammed up.
WONDERLUSTING VERDICT:
An effective and clever formula that gently exfoliates without irritation leaving skin feeling noticeably smoother – I kept stroking my petal soft cheeks.
Green People Age Defy+ Hydra Glow Sleep Mask Review
When I shared this over on my Instagram Stories, I had a few people ask – what is a sleep mask? Think pimped up night cream. It has all the moisturising benefits of a night cream with extra actives that have longer to work on your skin overnight when it’s in repair mode. Basically beauty sleep in a jar.
The Age Defy+ Hydrate & Glow Sleep Mask is packed with botanical actives including Green Macro Algae that helps stimulate collagen production, and Caesalpinia Spinosa that helps keep skin firm and locks in moisture to deeply hydrate.
How I used the Age Defy+ Hydra Glow Sleep Mask in my skincare routine?
Rather than as a sleep mask I love using this in the daytime once a week and whenever I needed to quickly revive my skin. A thick layer slathered on before a shower and left to sink in gives skin serious glow and is great under makeup.
WONDERLUSING VERDICT
I am an oil and balm junkie and very rarely go for moisturisers so this is not a product I would naturally reach for. That said I did enjoy using it but not at night. It has an utterly delectable luxurious creamy texture that reminded me of double cream and if I was cream gal would be diving head first in to this scrumptious pot.
Overall I was impressed with this elegantly formulated skincare range with sumptuous textures that were a pleasure to use, as well as being effective. I’d always had Green People down as “for basics” so was pleasantly surprised to discover they are so much more.
